Writivate.com (the "Site") is owned and operated by Writivate, LLC ("Writivate," "we," "us," or "our"). We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site and to related interactions with us, such as signing up for our emails, joining a waitlist, enrolling in a program, or contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above, unless applicable law requires a different form of notice.

Information We Collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies, or can reasonably be used to identify, an individual.

Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to provide, for example when you:

• subscribe to our newsletter or email updates;
• join a waitlist or interest list for a course or program;
• enroll in or purchase a course, program, or coaching service;
• create an account or log in to our member area;
• apply to, or ask about, a pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or other program;
• take part in a survey, community discussion, or event; or
• contact us with a question or comment.

Depending on the interaction, this may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing or billing address, your email consent choices, and any information you include in an application, survey, or message (such as educational or employment background).

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and approximate location, time zone, or language. We collect this through server logs, cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help the Site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how the Site is used. Payment information

Payments are handled by third-party payment processors through our website platform. We do not store your full payment card number on our systems.

Email Communications and Your Choices

We send marketing emails only to people who have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or by emailing us at [email protected]. Opting out of marketing emails does not stop administrative or transactional messages related to your account, purchases, or programs.

Our emails may contain small tracking pixels that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. We use this information to understand how well our communications are working.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only as described here:

• Service providers. We use trusted providers to run our business, including our website, course, and email platform (Kajabi), payment processors, and analytics providers. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
• Program partners. If you apply to or enroll in a program delivered with a partner, such as an employer, training partner, or grant-funding agency, we may share information needed to run the program or meet reporting requirements. We will tell you about this when you apply.
• Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
• Business transfers. If Writivate is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• With your consent. We may share information in other ways when you ask us to or agree to it.

Analytics

We may use web analytics services to understand Site traffic and usage. These services may collect information such as your IP address and the pages you visit. For example, you can prevent Google Analytics from using your information by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, for as long as you have an account or relationship with us, or as required by law (for example, for tax, accounting, or grant-reporting purposes), whichever is longer. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Accessing and Updating Your Information

You may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. To protect your privacy, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request. If your email address changes, you can unsubscribe and re-subscribe with your new address, or contact us to update it.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, but you can manage cookies and email preferences as described in this policy.

Writivate is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed in the United States. If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, for marketing emails), the performance of a contract with you (for example, delivering a course you enrolled in), our legitimate interests in running and improving our business (where those interests are not overridden by your rights), and compliance with legal obligations.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• have your data erased in certain circumstances;
• restrict or object to our processing, including processing for direct marketing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
